For his second release of the year Tremayne explores the commonly toxic relationship between humans and their fathers. The song features Charlie Noiir and Backxwash. Leading off the song Tremayne’s verse travels through emotions like pride, ignorance, stubbornness, guilt, resentment, confusion and anger in a braggadocios way. The hook on the song, written by Tremayne and performed by Charlie Noiir cleverly reinterprets lil Wayne’s 2006 hit song “stuntin like my daddy”. The hook continues the conversation from Tremayne’s verse sarcastically describing the debaucherous day in the life of the young and misguided.

On the final verse Backxwash gives a completely new perspective describing the role a mother can play in perpetuating daddy issues on to their children. Backxwash eventually goes on to express how she’s found herself not only despite her parents, but despite the disapproval of peers in her pursuit for a rap career.

Tremayne’s daddy issues is a potent, unapologetic, powerfully theatrical song providing visibility to a commonly rarely discussed topic.
